QuickChek Opponents Out in Force

Board of Adjustment packed again with objectors

The meeting room of the Board of Adjustment was again stuffed to the gills with residents opposed to a plan to build a new convenience store on the former State Police Barracks property on Allenwood Road.

QuickChek has an active application before the board to build a 5,496-square-foot store and 16-pump gas station at 2101 Allenwood Road, near Route 138. The store would be open 24-hours.

Time ran out on the application Wednesday, with a long que of residents lined up to ask questions of the QuickChek traffic engineer. Another session is scheduled for Feb. 1.
