Snoop Dogg For Township Committee!

Wall residents' write-in candidates real to surreal

It may surprise you that Snoop Dogg, the one-time gangster rapper-turned cola shill, did not win a seat on the Township Committee in Tuesday’s general election.

Neither did Congressman Ron Paul, R-Tx., turns out.

And while chances are that neither man knew they were in contention for a three-year term on the local governing body, each was regarded highly enough by at least two people to be written in on the ballot, according to elections records.

Committeeman Clint Hoffman, a sitting member of the governing body who has another year left in his term, also received a write-in vote, along with Gordon Stake, former Mayor John Devlin, and someone named Mike Elward.

There was also one write-in vote for “Pacchment” which does not appear to be a person, or even a word.

Mike Elward also received a nod for General Assembly, according to the records, as did “Duck-Don,” “BPW,’’ and “I.’’

“I’’ also got a vote for a Freeholder seat, along with Monica Markowski.

The Surrogate’s race was similarly loaded with previously unknown candidates.  Sean Kean, who won an Assembly seat in the new 30th district, received a vote. So did someone named simply “Peter,” Rich Brudzynski, and well-known Township Committee critic Betsy Cross.

James Charles Gray, Jr. , Sean Kean, Rich Brudzynski also received a single vote for state Senate, along with the protest vote for “I WANT BETTER,’’ which also received a vote for a General Assembly seat.
