Tax Bills Are In The Mail

Hang Up From State And Technical Error Gummed The Works

After waiting for certification from the state and then correcting a technical error, the property tax bills have gone out, township officials said.

Theresa Vola, township tax collector, said tax bills were mailed Wednesday for those who pay their property taxes separate from their mortgage.

Vola, addressing the Township Committee at its workshop meeting, said the bills had gone out late while waiting on word from the state and then an error in the bill publishing hung up the process.

Residents whose taxes are included in their mortgages, advisory notices will go out by next week, Joe Verruni, township administrator, said.

“If you pay your taxes through your mortgage, those notices will go out in a week or so,’’ Verruni said. “All the other tax bills are out.”
