Town Rejects Bids On Two Projects

Officials say the advertising was inaccurate

The Township Committee voted Wednesday to void two bid proposals because the advertising soliciting the bids were not correct.

The committee voted 4-0 in favor of rejecting the bids and re-advertising. Committeewoman Anne Marie Conte was absent.

Bids solicited for janitorial services for town hall and for retrofitting the Police Department’s gun range each contained mistakes in the advertising, Township Administrator Jeffry Bertrand said.

Janitorial services were supposed to be for a one-year term. The advertising said two years. The gun range bids were for only pistols. It mentioned nothing about other firearms that police use.

All bids received for each of the two solicitations will be rejected and new bids with proper specifications will be solicited, Bertrand said.
