The weather cooperated for the first two nights of the fair, but intermittent storms threatened to cancel the last day, and the fireworks show. By 7 p.m., however, officials decided the fireworks would go as scheduled.

“Even though Mother Nature tried to work against us a little bit, it was real positive,’’ Committeeman George Newberry said.

Committeeman Clinton Hoffman said key stakeholders in this year’s fair will soon have a meeting to discuss the good and the bad of the fair to help next year’s event run smoother. He did not say when that meeting would take place.

“There’s a lot of things that we can do better, even though I think we did a tremendous job,’’ said Hoffman. “We’re going to be a lot more pro-active now that we have the benefit of experience. I’m looking forward to actually starting to plan for next year’s and we will, almost immediately, start to do that.’’

“It was a wonderful event,’’ said Committeeman Todd Luttman. “Kudos for that.’’

“There was really a sense of community out there,” Mayor Ann Marie Conte said. “I really think this is something we need to keep going for years to come.’’
