Last Day To Register To Vote

If you plan on voting in next month's elections, get registered Tuesday

County residents have until 9 p.m. Tuesday to register to vote in the upcoming elections, officials said.

The Monmouth County Voter Registration Office, 300 Halls Mills Rd. in Freehold, will be open and accepting registrations from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. for anyone who has not previously registered to vote.

Residents will need to provide a valid New Jersey driver's license or Motor Vehicle Commission identification or Social Security number.

You may register to vote if:

  • You are a U.S. citizen
  • You will be at least 18 years old by the next election
  • You will be a resident of Monmouth County 30 days prior to the election
  • You are not currently incarcerated, on probation or parole because of a felony conviction.

The whole of the state legislature and numerous municipal seats statewide are up for grabs in the Nov. 8 general elections.

Locally, incumbent Republican Mayor Ann Marie Conte, of Overbrook Drive, and Committeeman George Newberry, also a Republican, of M Street, are seeking re-election to the Township Committee.

They are challenged by Democrats Charles McFadden, of Terrace Place, and Thomas P. Ehrlich, of Buchannan Street.
