Another Win For Cari Fletcher And Lakoda Rayne On X Factor

Girl group advances to the top nine

singer Cari Fletcher continues to win on X Factor, advancing to the top nine acts on Simon Cowell's singing competition that promises a $5 million recording contract for the winner.

Fletcher's group, "Lakoda Rayne'' was the second of nine acts chosen by audience votes to advance to the next round. That's a big turnaround from the previous week when the four-member group garnered among the lowest votes from the nationwide television audience.

The girls screamed in delight following the announcement that they had won the opportunity to continue on the show.

The group's mentor and X Factor judge Paula Abdul rushed to congratulate the group, returning to the judges platform.

"I told you so,'' she said, proudly, to Cowell and judge L.A. Reid. Both men were lukewarm at best on Lakoda Rayne's performance Wednesday.

Lakoda Rayne, featuring singer Cari Fletcher, put their own spin on another Fleetwood Mac tune on X Factor Wednesday, with mixed reviews from the show's judges.

The judges were lukewarm in their reaction. Judge L.A. Reid wondered if the group had what it takes for super-stardom.

Before he had a chance to continue, Fletcher, 17, answered emphatically: "We definitely do,'' she said.

Paula Abdul heaped on praise. Cowell winced. Judge Nicole Scherzinger was neutral.

But it was audience votes that put the group through to the next round. The group will perform on Tuesday live on the Fox network.
