Cari Fletcher And Lakoda Rayne Sing Taylor Swift On X Factor

singer Cari Fletcher and her group Lakoda Rayne on Tuesday performed a Taylor Swift hit on Simon Cowell's X Factor show in persuit of a $5 million recording contract.

The group performed the smash hit song "You Belong To Me'' by the grammy-winning Swift. Cowell said it was "by far your best performance to date.''

"I'm not going to say the vocals were perfect,'' he continued. "You are four really sweet girls and I wish two (acts) weren't going home tonight.''

The group's mentor, judge Paula Abdul, was moved to tears and could barely speak following the performance.

"The sky is the limit,'' Abdul said through tears.

Judge Nicole Scherzinger had high praise.

"I felt like I was watching you in concert,'' Scherzinger said.

Judge L.A. Reid was equally complimentary.

"I was prepared not to like it,'' Reid said. "But once again, you disarmed me.''

The group last week survived elmination to become one of the final nine acts left. This week, two acts will be cut from the show, based partly on the number of audience votes each act receives. The acts with the lowest number of votes will be up for elimination. The results will be revealed on Wednesday's show.

Fletcher's group last week was the second of nine acts chosen by audience votes to advance to the next round. That's a big turnaround from the previous week when the four-member group garnered among the lowest votes from the nationwide television audience.
