Central School Is Prepared To Host Charity Walk-A-Thon Wednesday

Ms. Delaware 2010 to participate in the afternoon charity event

Kayla Martell, Miss Delaware 2010, is scheduled to join Wall Central School students at the Allenwood Road school’s annual Walk-A-Thon on Wednesday.

Money raised during the 1:15 p.m. event will be donated to The National Alopecia Areata Foundation.  Martell, along with a Central School first grader, have the non-fatal, autoimmune disease.

People affected by the disease suffer a loss of hair, on the scalp and elsewhere. Alopecia Areata usually starts with one or more small, round, smooth patches on the scalp and can progress to total scalp hair loss or complete body hair loss, according to the Alopecia Areata foundation.
