Deadline To File For School Board Elex Extended

Deadlines to file to run for school board have been extended under the Board of Education's recent decision to move the annual elections from April to November.

The deadline to file would have been today, but the board in January . The school elections will run concurrently with general election polling.

School Board candidates have until June 5 to declare their intention to run for the 9-member board.

There are three seats up for grabs in the upcoming election. The terms of Deidre Kukucka, Melissa Peters and John Tavis, the current board president, expire this year.

The move to a November election was allowed under a newly passed , giving districts the choice to keep an April election or move it to coincide with the general election in November.
