Homecoming BBQ in parking lot before football game on Saturday, Oct. 27

The first-ever Homecoming BBQ event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27, at Wall High school in the hours leading up to the Varsity football team's game.

The high school student council is organizing the free event, which has galvanized the support of all the school's clubs and organizations. The Wall Recreation Department and the Alliance for the Prevention of Drug and Alcohol abuse also have joined to make the inaugural event a success.

Planned activities, which kick off at 11 a.m. and run until kickoff at 2 p.m., include a 22-foot inflatable slide, carnival-type games run by the various high school clubs and organizations, pie throwing contests, free ice cream, fire truck rides and a host of other activities.
