Greater Shore Band To Play At Wall High

Nonprofit band to hold its 45th annual concert May 12

The Greater Shore Concert Band, led by former longtime music director James R. Bast , is scheduled to hold its annual concert on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at .

The concert, the band’s 45th yearly performance, begins at 8 p.m. at the high school’s auditorium. The band will perform selections from the William Tell Overture, Valdres, Marche Militaire Francaise, the Magic of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Crooner’s Serenade and Instant Concert, among others.

The non-profit, volunteer band organization consists of about 70 members performing a variety of contemporary and classical pieces throughout area comprised of approximately 70 musicians whose ages range from students in junior high school to retired seniors.

Bast taught instrumental music at the middle school for 35 years. He retired in 2005.
