Habel Indictment: Wall School District's Full Statement

Wall Township School District officials released a statement of no comment Monday morning.

Following the indictment of former Superintendent James F. Habel, the Wall Township School district released this statement:

"The Wall Township Board of Education has been asked to respond to the indictment of James Habel, the former Superintendent of Schools in the district. Dr. Habel resigned from his position in the district last year, in June, 2012, and the Board, as well as its administration has fully cooperated with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office during the course of this lengthy investigation. In order to avoid any interference to that investigation and the judicial process, the Board cannot address or answer many of the questions you may have. Obviously, the Board and the current administration must leave any comments as to the specific allegations to the prosecutor's office for an appropriate response. However, please be assured that the pendency of these charges, as well as any ultimate outcome, will have no impact or effect upon the educational programs for district’s students, staff and the community."
