Incoming Freshmen Get First Course In Wall High School Life

Hundreds of parents of eighth graders came to Wall High School Thursday night for an open house designed to inform next year’s incoming freshmen about the school’s culture and academics.

The Class of 2018 Information Night began in the school’s auditorium with a program where administrators, led by Principal Rosealeen Sirchio, went through a survey-level crash course in Wall High School 101.

The auditorium was mainly filled to capacity when assistant principals Michael Mendes and Robert Paneque, along with Kathryn Misa, guidance director, and Thomas Ridoux, athletic director, each went through their portions of the program, talking about the social, academic, logistic and athletic aspects to the Wall High School experience.

“We’ve got a little bit of everything,’’ Sirchio said in an interview after the program. “I think that’s what makes us unique.’’

The auditorium program was punctuated by a talk from some of the High School students, who fielded pre-submitted questions from some of the incoming freshmen. After, parents and students were introduced to the school’s athletic, social and academic clubs in one of the school’s gyms.
