Letters Pouring In About District's Music Plans

Nearly 60 delivered to Interim Superintendent Stephanie Bilenker

Nearly 60 letters collected in regard to the recent revelation that Wall School District is considering bumping music instruction from the regular schedule have been delivered to Interim Superintendent Stephanie Bilenker this week.

The letters were sent first to the wallopinion@gmail.com email address, run by Orchard Crest resident Jim Boyle.

Boyle in an interview Wednesday said more than 90 percent of the letters were critical of the district's plans. A handful were in favor. All were delivered this week to Bilenker, he said.

"There were some very well thought-out, reasoned reponses,'' Boyle said. "There are some really good ideas in there.''

Boyle solicited the letters in an email sent to district parents late last week. That email was obtained by Wall Patch.

It was unclear Thursday what the administration planned to do with the letters or how or if they would influence the district's decisions. Bilenker —  – has not responded to a request for comment left Wednesday.
