Sandra Brower Leaving Wall School District

Sandra Brower, assistant superintendent of Wall Township schools, on Friday accepted the position of Lacey Township schools superintendent during a special meeting of that district.

Brower’s term in Lacey is set to begin Dec. 1, or sooner. 

“It is an honor and a privilege to serve the Lacey Township School District as the next superintendent and I am so very excited to be here,” . “While you were looking for a school district leader, I was looking for a place to call home.”

Brower, a Wall resident whose contract with Wall schools expired in June, released the following statement late Friday:

"I began my search to lead in a new district in 2011 and will be leaving Wall to be the Superintendent of Schools in Lacey Township.   

"I have had the privilege to serve Wall Township working alongside Dr. James Habel, Superintendent of Schools. These past three years have been spent collaborating on how, together, we could improve our schools today and for the future.

"That work resulted in a full complement of district restructuring including new primary school programs to new high school programs; from new special education programs to innovative technology systems; from getting better every year -- even with less resources than we had the year before. 

"I have had the opportunity to work with some of the finest staff from primary to our operations department  - from our elementary schools to our high school.  I have served alongside district and school leaders and many board members, both past and present, who are the most passionate and dedicated leaders that have ever served public education.

"Each knows how I feel as I have shared that with them personally over this past week or so. Their vision, their compassion and passion, and their unwavering standard of excellence are forever engrained in my heart and mind. They have all left an indelible mark on me as a person and as a leader. They will continue to serve as a model for me when I think about the dedication, commitment, and focus needed in our school district today.

"The district will face many challenges but I am hopeful that the process of moving forward for students and student programs will once again be the most important topic in Wall."
