Sharpen Those Pencils

The Wall Township School District kicks off the 2011-12 year today

It's early. It's real early. And there's more commotion in the house at this hour than there has been in nearly three months.

The majority of the system's students are attending a 1/2 day today -- the first day of the 2011-12 school year. Classes began at 7:20 p.m. for students; 8:15 a.m. for pupils and each of the four elementary schools -- , , and -- started at 9:05 a.m.

Dismissal today will be at 11:45 a.m., 12:05 p.m. and 1:05 p.m., respectively. Thursday will be a regular, full day of school, with classes ending at 2:02 p.m.; 2:49 p.m. and 3:20 p.m., respectively.

Thursday, Sept. 8, also will be the first day for students at . Students in the a.m. session will begin there at 8:15 a.m.
