REMINDER: Wednesday Last Day For Turkey Drive To Benefit FoodBank

Fifth annual event hopes to collect 150 turkeys for the FoodBank

They've donated 11,000 pounds of poultry so far and the Intermediate School is looking for more this year.

The fifth annual Turkey Drive to benefit the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean counties is set for Monday, Nov. 19 and Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the Intermediate School.

Each year, families throughout Wall are eligible to receive a free turkey be redeeming 'points' at various shopping centers. But many of those turkey's go unclaimed.

So far, students have donated more than 700 turkeys. The goal this year is 150.

Students at the Intermediate School are asking that anyone who can donate a turkey to please do so. All turkeys will go to the FoodBank, to be distributed to families who might not otherwise get one for Thanksgiving.

The birds will be accepted from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. at the Intermediate School side parking lot.
