Wall Dominates Lakewood 42-6

Crimson Knights remain undefeated after three games

It was never even close.

The Wall Crimson Knights drove seven plays from their 39 yard line and scored on their first possession Saturday against the Lakewood Piners to open their third game of the season.

And they never looked back.

The Knights scored on their next three possessions while Lakewood's offense, besieged by bad snaps and penalties, most times struggled to just to get back to the line of scrimmage.

By the end of the first quarter, the Knights were up 22-0. By the half, Wall was comfortably ahead 35-0.

"Things went our way early,'' Crimson Knights Head Coach Chris Barnes said. "We knew we had to contain their quarterback, and I think we did that. We still have some things to work on but I'm pleased with where we are right now.''

The Knights are 3-0 on the season, kicking off a series of away games against Point Boro next Friday. Wall will not have another home game until the homecoming game Oct. 24.

Senior Quarterback Steve Cluley ran for two touchdowns and threw for another to receiver Conor Mulholland. Running back Jim Guiliano crossed into the endzone twice and Peter Miceli also racked up six.

Lakewood's finally lit up the scoreboard in the fourth on a Wall fumble from their own 1-yard line. But the extra point was bungled on a bad snap, one in a handful throughout the game that put the Piners deep on their heels all night long.
