Patch Voter Guide: April 27 School Elections
Budget and candidate information, presentations, stories, audio -- everything you need to make an informed decision on April 27
As the race for open school board seats heats up and calls to pass the district's proposed budget are reaching a fever pitch, Wall Patch has put together this special section to help voters make informed decisions on April 27.
We've compiled our own election-related stories, along with budget information and various informational resources and put it all here, in one central location for you to peruse and use to aid your decision on election day.
Beginning with the Board of Education, there are eight candidates running for four open seats on the school board. Six are running for full, three-year seats on the panel, while two are running for a 1-year unexpired term of a former board member who resigned last year.

All candidates were invited to participate in Wall Patch's election coverage. Links to the interviews with those who responded are included below.
There are two former candidates -- Michael Manson and Michael Tranberg -- who will also appear on the ballot. Neither man is in contention for a seat on the board. Manson and Tranberg dropped out of the race, but did so after the state deadline to do so.

The school district also is asking voters to approve two tax questions. The first asks voters to approve a $56,829,239 tax levy in support of its $61,039,000 budget.
A second question asks voters for an additional tax of $324,830 to support retaining six custodians whose salaries are not included in the district's budget.
Voters have defeated the last 9 of 10 school budgets, approving only the 2008 spending plan in the past decade.
Below are links to stories and resources we hope you'll find helpful in making your decisions.
