Wall Schools Canceled Monday And Tuesday

Superintendent, in consultation with emergency officials, calls off school ahead of storm

The Wall Township School system is closed for Monday and Tuesday, according to Superintendent Daniel Simon.

Simon, who earlier Sunday spoke with Police Chief Robert Brice and other emergency officials in a conference call, decided to shut the seven-school system ahead of Hurricane Sandy.

In a message sent to parents around 11 a.m. Sunday, Simon said both the schools and the administrative offices would be closed for the coming storm and that on Tuesday a decision would be made whether to open on Wednesday.

Due to severity of the impending weather conditions, all Wall Township schools and offices will be closed on Monday, October 29th and Tuesday, October 30th. All scheduled after-school and evening activities are postponed," Simon said. "Information regarding the status of the schools for Wednesday will be shared on Tuesday after a comprehensive evaluation of local conditions and facilities takes place. Please be prepared and stay safe!!!"
