A Parade Of Champions

Wall Cadet football team holding parade to celebrate its first national championship

A parade honoring the achievement of young Wall Township football players who capped an undefeated season with a National Championship is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

Wall’s American Youth Football program fielded a Cadet division team of 9- and 10-year olds who were unbeaten all season. The team won their division championship, The Jersey Shore Championship before going on to win the national title on Dec. 7 in Orlando, Fla., by beating the Tucson Falcons of Arizona by a score of 12-7.

The national championship is the first national title for Wall Youth Football in its 52 years of existence.

The parade will start at the Wall AYF Fields on Baileys Corner road, heading toward 18th Ave. passing Wall High School, then town hall and the Intermediate school and making it back to the AYF fields.

Santa will be an honored guest aboard a fire truck.

The 2012 American Youth Football Championships Highlight show will air on NBC Sports on Saturday, December 29 at 3:30 p.m. for anyone looking to catch up on the championship game.
