"Carnival Night'' Coming Saturday To Wall Stadium

Carnival midway atmosphere added to 75-lap Sportsman Championship

Wall Stadium’s grandstands will be turned into a carnival midway Saturday when the track features “Carnival Night.’’

The Route 34 racetrack is scheduled to line the grandstands with carnival-type games for the weekend feature races, set to receive the green flag at 7 p.m.

The night’s feature race will be the Sportsman division’s 75-lap championship. Defending champion Keven Eyres of Colts Neck is scheduled to race to retain his title against a highly competitive field including Robert Sutphin of Brick and Joe Mongeau and Chris Lane, both of Howell, as well as Holmdel’s Andrew Krause, son of track operator Cliff Krause, according to track spokesman Jeff Gravatt.

The Legend Cars and the Street Stocks will also compete in 25-lap main events, Gravatt said.

Pit gates are scheduled to open at 4:30 p.m. with regular practice starting at 5:00 p.m. Grandstand seating will also open at 5:00 p.m. and the first qualifying event is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
