YMCA Benefits Local Community with Learn-to-Swim Week

As part of their ongoing commitment to water safety, The Community YMCA is pleased to offer Learn-to-Swim Week, a national YMCA initiative for first-time swimmers in the community.  Aimed at participants with little or no swimming experience, this 5-day program introduces them to the aquatic environment, teaches basic learn-to-swim skills, and increases water awareness for the participants and their families. With the summer fast approaching, the Y is committed to helping children, families and all residents feel safe in and around water.

Pre-registration begins Wednesday, May 2, and must be done in person. Participants’ School ID or recent report card is needed. Space is limited and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Fee is $15 for the week of five lessons.

Classes are offered for all ages, from 6 months to adult, during the week of June 18-22.
