Second Place Finish Nets Win For Freehold Racer

Driver disqualified following post-race inspection.

A disqualification pushed a Freehold racer closer to his third championship title at Wall Stadium on Saturday, race officials said.

Chas Okerson was awarded the modified main event victory after the apparent winner Jonathan Mandato, of Toms River, failed a post-race technical inspection, according to a release from the track.

The win was Okerson’s second of the year. Championships in all racing divisions are scheduled to be held Saturday, beginning at 7 p.m.
