Stadium prepared for opening day of season some thought would never come

Wall Stadium, resurrected by an infusion of hope and hard work after prospects for the 60-year-old track looked grim last year, is scheduled to kick of its new season tomorrow.

Doors will open at 3 p.m. for fans, followed by an on-track party at 4:30 p.m. Racing begins at 6 p.m.

Krause said he's trying to create a family atmosphere, with give-aways and events geared for kids, such as T-shirt give-aways, a flag day, and a bicycle give-away.

He said he is trying to bring to the track as well. The track will of course feature its staples: modifieds, legends, stock and midgets, but he's also got plans for a Monster Truck event in September and is looking into several different kinds of racing events like dirt track and even lawnmower races.
