Turkey Derby Rolls Off This Weekend At Wall Stadium

Annual event draws big crowds over three days beginning Friday

A big weekend of racing kicks off Friday at Wall Stadium as the 39th annual Turkey Derby lights up the Route 34 auto racetrack.

Drivers from around the country come to compete in the three-day event, the biggest in the racetrack's calendar.

The Turkey Derby kicks off when the green flag is waived at 2:15 p.m. Friday for six feature races. Legend cars, Late Models, Sportsman, Trucks, Factory Stocks and 4-Cylinder divisions will all battle it out on the 1/3-mile oval.

Practice sessions begin at 8:45 a.m. and qualifying heats are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Grandstands open at 9:30 a.m.

Saturday's races will include TQs, Tour Modifieds, Dirt Modifieds, SK/Wall Modifieds and Street Stocks. Racing kicks off at 1 p.m., with qualifying heats at 11 a.m. Grandstands open at 9:30 a.m.

Races on Sunday will include the 4-Cylinder, Factory Stock, S-10 Trucks, and Powder Puff races. The event will close with the ever-popular Demolition Derby.

Tickets range in price from $7 to $40 and there are 2- and 3-day ticket discounts available through the stadium's website.
