Wall Speedway To Host 'Military Night' At The Races

Reduced admission for active duty personnel and their families

Wall Stadium is scheduled to host a "Military Night'' on Saturday, giving active duty personnel and their families a discount on the stadium's entry fee, stadium officials said.

Grandstand seating will open at 4:00 p.m. at the Route 34 and West Hurley Pond Road stadium. Practices will continue until the main events begin at 6:30 p.m., a half an hour later than normal, according to a stadium release.

"We owe so much to the men and women who serve this country in the Armed Forces," speedway operator Cliff Krause said in the release. "We feel honored to be able to honor them."

The release did not say how much tickets would be discounted.

Defending Modified champion Chas Okerson of Freehold, who grabbed the opening night victory, and two-time winner Anthony Sesely of Matawan will lead the powerful Modified stock cars in Twin 35 lap main events, while defending Blewett Recycling Sportsman champ Kevin Eyres of Colts Neck will pace that division in a 25-lap main event, the release said..

United Crane Factory Stock three-time winner Shannon Mongeau of Bradley Beach is expected to return for his division's 25-lapper and defending Street Stock champ Bill Vanderveen of Beachwood will be looking for glory in his class' 25-lap main event, according to the release.

The open cockpit Three Quarter Midgets will visit the speedway for the first time this season in a 25-lap feature, while the INEX Legend Cars will have the night off, the release said.
