Jazz It Up At Allaire Village

HIstoric village to host Garden State Wine Growers Association festival; 20,000 expected

More than 20,000 visitors are expected this weekend at Allaire Village for the “Jazz It Up Wine & Food Festival,’’ which will be held at the historic village Saturday and Sunday.

The annual event is put on by the Garden State Wine Growers Association and is the third festival in the association’s five-event season. It will feature wines from more two dozen New Jersey wineries, sampling more than 300 wines.

The festival, which runs each day from noon to 5 p.m., will also feature live music, vendors and crafters selling hand-made products, wine-related items and other quality goods. There will be activities for kids, including arts & crafts, face painting and games, according to an Allaire Village release.

Visitors to the festival also are invited to stroll around the Historic Allaire Village. The Trades Shops where the master craftsmen and their apprentices practice their arts will be open too, the release says.

Tickets for wine sampling are $25 for those 21 years and older. Proper identification is required. Tickets are available at the festival, or through the New Jersey Wine Growers website at www.newjerseywines.com. Those under 21 or who are not sampling wine are admitted free.
