The Community YMCA Announces Summer Aquatics Programs at Camp Zehnder in Wall

The Community YMCA is pleased to announce registration for summer swim lessons and for the Camp Zehnder competitive swim team. The camp is located at 3911 Herberstville Road in Wall.  The lessons and swim team run from June 23 through mid-August.  Registration is also still open for Zehnder’s summer day camp.

Swim lessons are available for ages 6 months – 12 years. Two options are available: One eight-week session, offered once a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday; or four two-week sessions, offered every day, Monday-Thursday. This nationally recognized swim program is taught by certified swim instructors.

The summer swim team is open to swimmers ages 6-14 and is now coached by The Community YMCA’s Aquarockets professional coaching staff. Registration is open to all and will be held June 6 from 5-7 p.m. and until the week of June 23 at Camp Zehnder.

“Summer is an especially important season for swim lessons,” said Stacey Lastella, Vice President of Camping and Outreach. “We want to be able to offer parents the opportunity to help keep their kids safe in and around water all year long, and thankfully we can use our facilities at Camp Zehnder this summer to provide that,” Lastella added.

The competitive swim team, she noted, gives local children the opportunity to participate in the Southern Monmouth Summer Swim League.
