Cancer Walk Coming Up in Point Beach Sunday

Annual event attracts participants and donors from all over Jersey Shore

The "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk" is coming up in Point Pleasant Beach on Sunday.

The annual event draws participants and donors from throughout the Jersey Shore region.

Participants who have already registered are scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. at the Silver Lake parking lot at Ocean and Arnold avenues, according to the event web page. Registration begins at 8 a.m. (Those interested in participating or donating can click on the hyperlink.)

One of the many groups participating is the "Brady Bunch," representing the Carmie Brady Foundation, which provides a home away from home for families of cancer patients. Families of cancer patients treated in any hospital in New York City can stay in the Carmie Brady Room at Hope Lodge.
