$75,000 to wear the Governor's personally autographed orange cone hat part time - so much for SetonRead More Hall's dignity in our national college community - is this the law school Christie's legal shill received his law degree from during his overnight visitation there during spring break?

EDITORIAL: Friend or foe? Christie knewRead More http://www.dailyrecord.com/article/20140418/NJOPINION01/304180020/EDITORIAL-Friend-foe-Christie-knew “Christie used to trumpet the fact that he was a different kind of politician. What the people of New Jersey have learned is that not only is Christie the same as other wanna-be tough guy politicians, he emulates the worst of them with an enemies list worthy of Richard Nixon.” So we’re to understand that Christie is extremely driven, highly deceitful, hypocrtical, vindictive, and an absolute monster. Got it!

I served on a jury for an assault involving biting that left a permanent scar on the victims hand.Read More It wasn't just a bite but a ripping. This 'bleeding heart liberal' voted for conviction and led the jury to see this as egregious and requiring that we do convict. That's the price of being an adult human being, to do the hard thing when necessary.

Rick: Yes, I certainly do remember the case of Richard A. Jewell who died in 2007 at the age of 44.Read More For about 3 days he was regarded as a hero and then overnight he became a "person of interest" by the FBI and he became the suspect in the public's eye and people were ready to lynch him. People regarded him as guilty because he was temporarily living with his mom and they saw the FBI on nationwide TV news searching the apartment. Jewell's life was ruined until he was cleared and exonerated. The real bomber was some right wing fanatic (Eric R. Rudolph). I also remember the radio and TV talk host, Lionel (Michael William Lebron) saying that Jewell was guilty because..."just look at him, he's guilty, he's guilty.." Lionel is a lawyer and he was a prosecutor in FL and he has the audacity to say that someone is guilty because they "look" guilty!!!! Lionel is a certified pompous a$$ jerk. Later, Lionel claimed that he was just joking but he's lying through his teeth because I heard that show and he was not joking in the least. In any case, Richard Jewell was a hero and he did save lives. I wish they would honor his memory in some way since he had to suffer so much for his act of heroism and sacrifice. I apologize for being so off topic but this is an example of how innocent people can become demonized and crucified.

From the article: One person currently stuck in the broken system is Aakash Dalal, a former RutgersRead More student who is being held in Bergen County Jail on $4 million bail for his role in firebombing a synagogue 2 years ago. Ridiculous. People need to read the book I had to read for my MSW program at the University of IowaRead More School of Social Work, "The Rich Get Richer and the Poor Get Prison." Matt Taibbi wrote an update (as wealth inequity and white-collar crime continue unabated and unconsequented) called "The Divide," which says much the same thing, and I'm anxious to read it. Wall Street CEOs can still millions and billions of dollars and not one of them goes to prison. In fact, they're laughing all the way to the bank. Yet this poor schmuck gets a free 89-cent refill and it costs him hundreds of dollars. Maybe things will have to get worse before people wake up and smell the coffee!

Why have the drink fountain accessible to patrons if they aren't allowed to refill? Why not fillRead More the drink behind the counter so there is no confusion? You typically put the fountain out in front of the counter and allow patrons to fill their own cups when there are free refills. This incident is arguably entrapment.

@Sharron Greenberg - personally I thank you for this information - this list seems to cover a lot ofRead More bases and is as Christie-style politically correct as it can get - I'm sure the other $13M and counting will uphold this same policy of distribution - what I find suspect about this money distribution is that Christie hasn't been touting it with all the newsprint about this money not being distributed - our Governor has a habit of self-touting everything he does for the benefit of the people (short list but he's still relentless about it) - perhaps those that contributed believing this fund had more to do with rebuilding hurricane destroyed homes on the Jersey Shore has something to do with another one of Christie's surprising leadership decisions that has to be dragged out of him

We need bomb-sniffing police dogs or military dogs. We also need to make the FBI accountable forRead More their failure to follow up on Russian warnings that Tamerlan Tsarnaeyev was being radicalized. The real jihadist in the family was the Tsarnaeyev's brothers' mother. The Russians knew that but didn't send the video proving it to the FBI. Even so, they told the FBI enough that they should have been on their trail, and the FBI blew it. And why weren't they on top of the former Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan who shot to death three non-Jews in an anti-semitic attempt to kill Jews in Overland Park? Why do we allow so much surveillance of citizens when the results are so disappointing? It's not like the FBI is getting the job done. They miss a lot of really big, obvious targets.

I really hate to tell you butRead More the so called War on Drugs, whether titled that or not, has been going on for a long time before Reagan or Nixon ever came into office. To clarify before someone jumps - the major drug control legislation did come about in 1970 as aRead More reaction to the widespread (both real and perceived) use and abuse of recreational drugs.
