One local and one Connecticut man indicted in separate incidents
A Connecticut man was indicted Wednesday on assault and weapons charges stemming from a November arrest, according to the three-count indictment. Richard G. Clark, 48, of Bridgeport, Conn., faces one count of third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one count of third degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and one count of third degree unlawful possession of a weapon, according to the indictment, which was handed up Wednesday. The charges stem from a Nov. 7 arrest in Wall Township, the indictment says. Also handed up Wednesday was an indictment of a Wall man on a single count of possession of heroin. Brian D. Numerous arrests this week for a variety of crimes
A Beachwood woman was arrested and charged Tuesday with prostitution at a local motel, police said. Jessica Miserendino, 35, was arrested and charged with promoting and engaging in prostitution at a Route 35 motel, Sgt. Erik Ertle said. The hotel was not named. Detective Sean O’Halloran was the arresting officer, Ertle said. Also on Tuesday, Richard Clark, 47, of Bridgeport, Conn., was arrested and charged with second degree aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possess of a knife, Ertle said. Clark’s arrest stems from a Nov. 8 incident at a Route 35 motel where police say Clark slashed a 26-year-old Connecticut resident with a knife, Ertle said. Aggravated assault and resisting arrest among the charges
Two Neptune men, arrested and charged on Monday for a host of offenses related to a fight in Wall, appeared before a Superior Court judge Tuesday to face their charges. Anthony Fleuradin, 26, and Vonder Fleuradin, 28, both of Neptune, were arrested and charged Monday with a disorderly persons offense for fighting, threatening and engaging in tumultuous behavior, according to arrest warrants. Both Fleuradin men were also was charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault for attacking two Wall Township police officers while the officers were trying to arrest them, according to arrest warrants. The pair on Tuesday were at the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $15,000 bail, according to jail records.

Prosecutor's Office to recommend 14 years in prison for attacks on two officers and the man's former girlfriend
A Middletown man on Monday pleaded guilty to attacking his former girlfriend and two police officers in a multi-town rampage, authorities said. Gregory B. Canova, 38, pleaded guilty to second degree aggravated assault and second degree aggravated assault by eluding before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Ronald L. Reisner, according to a release from the Monmouth County Prosector’s Office. The Prosecutor’s Office will recommend a 14-year prison sentence – seven years for each charge, to run consecutively. Canova is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 18, 2013, according to the release. Canova is being held at Monmouth County Jail, Freehold Township, on $882,500 cash bail. Aggravated assault, stalking and witness tampering among charges
A Grand Jury on Tuesday handed up a nine-count indictment against a Lake Como man who police have charged with aggravated assault, stalking and witness tampering, among myriad other charges. The indictment officially charges Jeffrey F. Sharenow, 53, with a host of crimes stemming from two separate incidents on January 19 and April 16. Sharenow is charged with second degree aggravated assault and third degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from a January incident in Wall where Sharenow caused bodily harm to a victim identified only as “M.D.’’ with an electrical power cord.
