New data collected on municipalities statewide puts Wall's tax bill slightly higher than average
Wall Township residents pay slightly less for municipal services, more for schools and about average for county services than the 566 towns in the state, according to a new analysis. Wall residents paid an average of $8,397.76 in 2012 in local taxes, just a tick more than the average for municipalities in the state, according to a new Star Ledger analysis. In 2012, the newspaper's analysis of the 566 towns in the state showed the average tax bill was 1.7 percent more last year, as compared with 2011. Benefits are part of the compensation package that municipal employees earn. In other words, it is part of their salary. Instead of paying them $60,000 per year (not an exact figure, just for an example), they get $52,000 per year plus benefits. There is no such thing as a free ride. For anyone.   more ›
