Warehouse Project Approved For Belmar Boulevard

Wall construction approved; neighboring Howell to provide water & sewer

A proposal to build seven warehouses on farmland on the western edge of town was approved by the Planning Board Monday, officials said. The pitch, which proposed to build an 80,000-square-foot warehouse building and six 15,000-square-foot buildings — a total of 170,000 square feet of buildings — along with associated parking, drainage and utility facilities on a tract at Belmar Boulevard and Birdsall Road, was approved by the board in a 7-1 vote, according to the Planning office. Board member Clinton Hoffman was absent. Board member Ralph Addonizio cast the sole vote against the project. The vote followed a hearing that lasted about 15 minutes, officials said. All construction for the project is within the boundaries of Wall, according to …

Agreed. I was just on the jughandle at 5pm and it is a nightmare. I think I recall one of the board members complaining about this jughandle last year? Who is the warehouses' owner and who will be doing the construction.?   more ›

Warehouse Application Inches Forward

Traffic plans discussed at Monday's meeting; next scheduled for April

A proposal to build seven warehouses on farmland on the western edge of town was heard by the Planning Board Monday, officials said. The pitch, which proposes to build an 80,000-square-foot warehouse building and six 15,000-square-foot buildings — a total of 170,000 square feet of buildings — along with associated parking, drainage and utility facilities on a tract at Belmar Boulevard and Birdsall Road, exceeded the board’s time limit and a continuation of the hearing was scheduled for April, Mayor Todd Luttman said. The board heard from the applicant’s traffic engineer, Luttman said. There was no public comment, no cross-examination, he said. The application was scheduled to be continued at the board’s April 8 meeting, he said. All …

As a resident of Wall, I don't want this project constructed in this town. We don't need the additonal truck traffic that will be generated by the development. We already have lots of empty space in town that needs to be filled. When a new building is constructed, it doesn't always mean that a new business will come to town. Many times it means that an existing business will vacate an old …   more ›

Wall Planning Board To Hear Belmar Boulevard Warehouse Pitch

170,000 square feet of warehouses targeting Belmar Boulevard at Birdsall Road

The Planning Board at Monday’s regular meeting is scheduled to take up a proposal  for numerous warehouses on Belmar Boulevard near the Howell boundary. The application, brought by ASP at Wall, proposes to build an 80,000-square-foot warehouse building and six 15,000-square-foot buildings — a total of 170,000 square feet of buildings — along with associated parking, drainage and utility facilities on a tract at Belmar Boulevard and Birdsall Road. A portion of the property is located in Howell. All construction for the project would be within the boundaries of Wall, according to the plans, but Howell would provide water and sewer service. The buildings would be used for warehouse and office space, divided approximately 75 percent warehouse …

In the long run it would be better to have space to grow food. The country is on the verge of being bankrupt and we may need the space soon.   more ›

Two Shine On Planning Board Monday

Two major application cancel on abbreviated panel meeting

It was the Planning Board meeting that nearly wasn’t on Monday as two of the three applications scheduled for hearings took a pass. The big one, put forth by a company calling itself ASP Wall LLC, proposed an 80,000-square-foot warehouse building and six 15,000-square-foot buildings — a total of 170,000 square feet of buildings — along with associated parking, drainage and utility facilities on a tract at Belmar Boulevard and Birdsall Road. A portion of the property is located in Howell. But ASP canceled. No reason was given. Another hearing would be set at some time in the future, officials said. But no date was set Monday. The second, which proposes myriad renovations and construction to the office park known as Valley Park West – 2517-…

Planning Board To Hear Birdsall Road Plans

The second meeting for a proposal to bring 170,000 square feet of warehouse on Howell boundary

A huge construction project targeting a parcel in the extreme west of the township is slated for a second hearing before the Planning Board on Monday. The applicant, ASP Wall LLC, wants to build an 80,000-square-foot warehouse building and six 15,000-square-foot buildings — a total of 170,000 square feet of buildings — along with associated parking, drainage and utility facilities on a tract at Belmar Boulevard and Birdsall Road. A portion of the property is located in Howell. The project has gotten the attention of neighboring Howell Township officials, who have expressed concern that they would have no say over the approval process, but could potentially suffer ill effects from the development because of its location. All construction …

I agree. The amount of wildlife in that area need that space. Is it a good idea to put something like that at the end of a runway where jets take off and land. I can see a disaster there.   more ›

Project targeting tract at Belmar Boulevard and Birdsall Road straddles Wall and Howell townships

A project that calls for the construction of seven warehouse buildings on a Belmar Boulevard parcel in the extreme west of the township has raised the attention and concern of neighboring Howell Township’s deputy mayor. The applicant, ASP Wall LLC, wants to build an 80,000-square-foot warehouse building, and six 15,000-square-foot buildings — a total of 170,000 square feet of buildings — along with associated parking, drainage and utility facilities on a tract at Belmar Boulevard and Birdsall Road. A portion of the property is located in Howell. The first hearing of the project was held Monday at the Planning Board’s regular meeting. The presentation exceeded the 50-minute time limit.
