Burglaries Off Belmar Boulevard Continue: Two Incidents Thursday

Police asking for tips

Chief Robert Brice of the Wall Township Police Department reports the following occurrences: Township police are investigating two attempted residential burglaries reported in the Ruta Development off of Belmar Boulevard. In the first attempt, a Querns Road homeowner heard a strange noise in his back yard last evening at 10:30. Police were called at 12:53 a.m. after the homeowner later discovered that the screen on his porch door was cut. Police received a second call at 6:34 a.m. after a Ruta Boulevard homeowner found that three screens on 1st floor rear windows were cut and pushed up. No entry was gained in either attempt. Police Want Help Solving Four Recent Burglaries

Wall Police looking for assistance in four recent burglaries

The Wall Police are looking for help catching burglars responsible for four recent break-ins, authorities said. The burglaries – two on Belmar Boulevard, one on Birch Place and one on Allenwood-Lakewood Road – occurred between July 28 and Aug. 13. All occurred in the daylight hours, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Sgt. Erik Ertle said. The burglars are breaking into homes, forcibly at times, through rear windows  or doors. Most of the burglaries involve jewelry being stolen from the master bedroom, Ertle said. Residents are strongly encouraged to call the Wall Township Police to report any and all suspicious activity without delay, Ertle said. New Details On Three-Town Burglary Arrest

Bradley Beach man believed to be behind string of break-ins

Wall Police on Thursday released new details related to the arrest of a Bradley Beach man on burlgary charges in three Monmouth County towns. Michael C. Hanisch, 44, of Ocean Park Ave. in Bradley beach was arrested Tuesday during the commission of a residential burglary in Aberdeen Township. Also arrested was Alice Anderson, 50, of Hollywood Avenue in Howell, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said. The arrests were the result of a month-long investigation involving Wall police and investigators from Ocean Township and Aberdeen, Pomphrey said. In mid-April, Hanisch was stopped in his 1997 blue Ford Econoline work van by Wall Patrolman Adam Cox. Two more arrested and charged in recent break-ins

An Asbury Park man was arrested Tuesday and charged with the recent burglary of a home -- the fourth arrest in connection with a recent spate of daytime home burglaries, authorities said. Marcos Garcia, 28, is the fourth person arrested in connection with a string of home burglaries stretching back to late last month. Garica was arrested around 3 a.m. Tuesday and charged with the burglary of a Dovetail Court home, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said. The burglary -- one of a string of home break-ins that happened during the daylight hours beginning late last month -- occurred on Sept. 30, Pomphrey said. Police name a third person wanted in connection with recent crime wave

Police have issued arrest warrants for a 20-year-old woman whose last known address was in Lakewood for her connection with a recent spate of home burglaries, authorities said Thursday. Leeann M. Applegate, of Lakewood, Jackson and Jersey City, is wanted by Wall police in connection with a wave of at home burglaries that have plagued the town since late last month. Applegate is associated with Robert Ferguson and Christopher Kiraly, who were arrested last week and charged with burglaries, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said. Jackson pair responsible for two of 10 recent break-ins, police say

Township police have arrested and charged two people in connection with a recent string of home burglaries and ask for the public's help in preventing more break-ins, authorities said late Tuesday. Robert T. Ferguson, 21, of Jackson, was arrested on Thursday by Jackson Township police following a traffic stop in Jackson. Police: Yet Another Home Broken Into

Another in a string of home burglaries is reported Friday

Police are asking for help in solving another home burglary -- the latest in a rash of home break-ins recently. The burglary occurred during the daytime Friday on Dovetail Court, off Lakewood Road in the southern end of town, police Sgt. Pete Lokerson said. The home was forcibly broken into between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Lokerson said. No other information was available Sunday. The break-in is the latest in a string of home burglaries plaguing residents in the past weeks. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wall Township Police Detective Bureau, Lokerson said.  Police also are reminding residents to secure their homes and vehicles and report all suspicious activity to the Wall Township Police Department at (732) 449-4500.
