Lacey chorus students cheered along with Cari Fletcher over their shared experience as alto singers Wednesday afternoon. The member of Lakoda Rayne, a finalist in the group category of season one of The X Factor, visited Terri Lacalandra-Giampaoli’s chorus class at Lacey Township High School.  Fletcher, a Wall Township resident, began vocal lessons at 6, after starting with piano and eventually guitar, flute and drums. “I finally found singing, and I loved it,” she said. She tried out for The X Factor as a solo artist and was put into a musical group after the show’s “boot camp. “I really wanted to do something bigger,” she said of her audition for The X Factor. “And my mom always wanted to meet Simon Cowell." Fomer X-Factor group, featuring Wall High School recent graduate Cari Fletcher, on Wednesday began shooting a video for the group's first original song

Lakoda Rayne, the fomer X-Factor singing group featuring Wall High School 2012 graduate Cari Fletcher, on Wednesday began shooting a video for the group's first original song at Fletcher's township home. The group, put together months ago for the nationwide talent show's last season after each of its contestants had been cut as individual acts, has continued to persue their dreams after the national cameras had turned away. National singing star Paula Abdul, a former judge on the show, remains a mentor to the group, which has shrunk from a foursome to a trio since former member Paige Elizabeth Ogle recently left the group. The group's new song, "Emergency Brake,'' is a power country-pop tune in keeping with the trio's previous covers. …

Fletcher, a Wall High School Senior, heads home after long run

The group received the least number of audience votes from Tuesday's round of competition. The girls were the first of two acts to be eliminated from the show Wednesday. "I just feel so bad for them,'' said Lauren Greco, Fletcher's vocal coach and also a Wall resident. "I know they all wanted this more than anything.'' The grand prize of the show is a $5 million recording contract and a starring role in a Pepsi commerical to be shown during next year's Super Bowl. "They really put their hearts and souls into everything and I'm certain they're going to do big things in the …

The group performed the smash hit song "You Belong To Me'' by the grammy-winning Swift. Cowell said it was "by far your best performance to date.'' "I'm not going to say the vocals were perfect,'' he continued. "You are four really sweet girls and I wish two (acts) weren't going home tonight.'' VIDEO: Cari Fletcher's Group "Lakoda Rayne" Rocks Out On X Factor

Narrowly escaping elimination, group returns on "Rock Week"

Lakoda Rayne, featuring Wall Township High School singer Cari Fletcher, put their own spin on another Fleetwood Mac tune on X Factor Wednesday, with mixed reviews from the show's judges. Lakoda Rayne performed "Go Your Own Way,'' from the 70s supergroup live on stage in Los Angeles and carried nationwide on network television. Following the song, the judges weighed in with their opinons. Judge L.A. Reid was first. "I'm happy to see that this was the first time I've seen you have fun,'' Reid said. "Does it measure up? Do you have what it takes to be global superstars?'' Before he had a chance to continue, Fletcher, a 17-year-old senior at Wall High, answered, emphatically, for him: "We definitely do,'' she said. Judge Nicole Scherzinger …

UPDATED: Cari Fletcher Sings For Survival on X Factor

Lakoda Rayne continues on in competition, but barely

Lakoda Rayne, X Factor girl group sensation featuring Wall Township High School singer Cari Fletcher, sang for survival on the Simon Cowell show tonight after the group received among the lowest number of audience votes Wednesday. It came down to the final seconds of Thursday's show. And to the final judge -- the judge who has been the most critical of the group since they have performed together. But in the end, Fletcher's group was allowed to continue when Simon Cowell's deciding vote went in favor of Lakoda Rayne. They will perform live again next week. The group, formed from four singers previously cut from Simon Cowell's singing competition, performed live on Wednesday singing Keith Urban's hit "Somebody like you.'' But the group …

Top 10 Performance?

High School singer Cari Fletcher hopes to continue on X Factor

The field is being narrowed down to 10 acts on Simon Cowell's X Factor singing competition and Wall High School singer Cari Fletcher hopes to be still standing with her group, Lakoda Rayne, when the results come in tomorrow. Fletcher, a 17-year-old Wall High senior, was originally a solo act on the show but was grouped with three other girls to form Lakoda Rayne and allowed to continue competing. The group on Wednesday sang Keith Urban's hit "Somebody like you,'' to the delight of the live audience in Los Angles and, apparently, the four judges. "You're becoming the group I always hoped and prayed you'd become,'' judge Simon Cowell said following the performance. "Your presence together continues to be so natural and effortless,'' said …

Wall High School Senior continues to win on national singing competition

Another week, another win. Wall High School senior Cari Fletcher continues her success streak on the national singing competition X Factor. Lakoda Rayne, featuring Fletcher, was among the 10 acts chosen by audience votes to continue on to the next round in the competition. One other act will move to the next round. One will be cut. The group on Wednesday performed Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide," live before a television audience of millions and received a mixed bag of compliments and criticisms from the show's celebrity judges. "I thought they did well. Their harmonies blended beautifully,'' said Lauren Greco, Fletcher's vocal coach of the last three years. "And that's not easy to do, especially since they were put together at the last minute…
