Woman was killed in Monday morning fire
The woman killed in an apartment fire in Long Branch early Monday morning has been identified. Ann D. Lavelle, 79, of 11 Howland Ave., was a resident of the downstairs apartment of the building, and was found dead inside the building. Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Public Information Officer Charlie Webster said her cause of death has not yet been released, because autopsy results are still pending. Webster said the investigative team "conducted a thorough examination of the structure (at 11 Howland Ave.) and identified the area of origin as the rear bedroom." Prosecutor still has not released ID of victim, cause of death
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office has revealed the likely cause and origin of the fire that may have killed a 79-year-old Long Branch woman early Monday morning. Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Public Information Officer Charlie Webster said the investigative team "conducted a thorough examination of the structure (at 11 Howland Ave.) and identified the area of origin as the rear bedroom." Authorities have not yet released identity of resident
A fire broke out at a Long Branch home early Monday morning, killing a 79-year-old woman inside. The fire was reported at 2:56 a.m. at 11 Howland Ave., and was extinguished in the next few hours. Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Public Information Officer Charles Webster said an autopsy will be performed on the woman today to determine her cause of death. Webster said the identity of the woman has not yet been released, as the next of kin has not been notified. Webster said the cause and origin of the fire have also not yet been released. He said a firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling the blaze, but refused medical treatment.
