Police: Man Wanted For Child Sexual Abuse

Wall Police believe man has left the area, asking for public's help locating him

Police are looking for a man they say sexually abused a child and may have fled the area. Wall Police are searching for Martin Luis, 36, who had a last known address on 6th Avenue in Neptune Township, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said. Luis is described as a Hispanic male, approx 5-foot 5-inches, with brown eyes and short black hair, Pomphrey said. An arrest warrant was issued for Luis on one count of second degree Aggravated Sexual Assault and one count of second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The crime was not random, Pomphrey said. Bail is to be set on arrest, he said. Mansfield Man Flees From Police, Arrested After Short Manhunt

Resisting arrest and warrants from other towns among the charges

A Mansfield man was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and warrants from other towns following a manhunt in the north section of Wall Wednesday, police said. Michael Carroll Jr., 34, of the Columbus section of Mansfield, Burlington County, was arrested following a short hunt on Belmar Boulevard near Walton Way, Sgt. Heath Bono said. Police arrived at Route 34 north near Airport Boulevard for a report of a man and woman fighting on the side of the road. Carroll fled into the woods when officers arrived. Howell Police assisted in the search for Carroll with a K-9 unit, Bono said. Carroll was released after posting bail, Bono said.

First Appearance For Subject of Friday's Manhunt

Parolee who led authorities on seven-hour search appears in court

The parolee who led local and state authorities on an hours-long manhunt Friday, disrupting Garden State Parkway traffic and attracting a phalanx of police, made his first appearance in court Monday morning, according to court records. Kevin T. Brown, 37, of Pequannock, in Morris County, is being held at Monmouth County Jail, Freehold township, on $46,500 bail, according to jail records. Brown made his initial appearance Monday on eight separate charges stemming from the Friday incident. He is charged with aggravated assault while eluding capture, hindering, defiant tresspass, creating a dangerous condition, obstruction, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and creating the risk of widespread injury, according to court records.
