The wine and dinner fundraiser benefitting Wall-based charity Michael’s Feat has been moved to Jan. 15, 2013. The event will be held at The Mill in Spring Lake Heights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. In order to ensure that families in the region with seriously-ill newborns continue to receive the resources they need, The Michael’s Feat Wine and Chef’s Tasting, originally scheduled the week of the Storm, has now been rescheduled for Tuesday evening, January 15, 2013 at The Mill in Spring Lake Heights from 6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. “The devastation caused by Super Storm Sandy touched the lives of everyone in the Shore community. Wall residents run River To Sea race raising money for Michael's Feat
Tom Reiff, a Wall resident, had watched the runners pass his house during the annual River to Sea Relay Race -- a 92-mile race crossing 34 towns and five counties. The River To Sea starts in Milford on the Delaware River and ends on the beach in Manasquan. Reiff, a board member of Wall-based charity Michael's Feat, this year put together a relay team for the Aug. 4 race with the purpose of rasing money for the charity, which helps families of seriously ill newborns. "As of the day of the race, we had raised over $1,300 dollars," Reiff said in a release. "We also had the opportunity to speak with many of the participants and spectators about the outstanding work this organization does.”

A Neptune family will be honored at the upcoming Michael’s Feat charity picnic scheduled for Aug. 4 in Marlboro. The event, scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m., annually draws a crowd of more than 300 and features activities for the entire family. Michael’s Feat, a nonprofit organization, is named in memory of Michael Gerard Puharic, born July 29, 2000, to Wall residents Adam and Dana Puharic. Although Michael lived for just 83 hours; his legacy lives on through the hundreds of families that have been helped by Michael’s Feat within the past 11 years, according to a release from Michael’s Feat. Sea Girt Square to open at 10 a.m. Saturday with day-long celebration and donating a portion of the proceeds to the local charity
The grand opening of the Sea Girt Square shopping center on Saturday will benefit a local charity focusd on seriously ill newborns. The former Old Mill Plaza, at Ocean Road and Route 35, has been refurbished and is populated by numerous new businesses. The site is also the former location of the Wall Township library. The grand opening celebration is set to begin at 10 a.m., with a ribbon cutting with local dignitaries at 11 a.m. The opening will feature face painting, a balloonist, a bounce house, live entertainment and prize raffles, according to a release.
