Two pedestrians struck at Route 35 gas station
Three people suffered minor injuries and one was taken to an area hospital when a Subaru wagon careened out of control at a Route 35 gas station on Monday afternoon, police said. The driver of the Subaru, described by police only as a 64-year-old man, accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake while pulling up to a gas pump at the Gulf station at Allaire Road around 2:30 p.m. The mistake caused a collision with the 2005 Jeep SUV parked directly in front around 2:30 p.m. The Jeep consequently hit two pedestrians, Sgt. Joseph Wilbert said. The front seat passenger of the Jeep reported minor injuries, but refused medical treatment. Brielle resident suffers non-life-threatening injuries
A Brielle resident was sent to the hospital after being struck by a car on Route 35 Thursday afternoon, police said. The man, whose name was not released by police, was crossing Route 35 near the Brooke 35 Plaza when he was struck by a car traveling northbound on the state highway, Sgt. Patrick Connor said. Lynn Krohn, of Point Pleasant, was the driver of the car that struck the man around 3:35 p.m., was not faulted in the accident, Connor said. The pedestrian was taken by Wall EMS to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, with non-life-threatening injuries, Connor said. Sgt. Chad Clark is investigating, he said.

Pair taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
Two women were hit by a car in the West Belmar section of town Monday night, police said. Riyan Flannelly, 18, and Rachel Peluso, 22, were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, with non-life-threatening injuries around 9 p.m. after being struck by a pickup truck on Curtis Ave., Sgt. Erik Ertle said. Eduardo Lemus, 37, of Wall was traveling eastbound on Curtis Ave. in his 2000 Chevrolet pickup when Flannelly and Peluso ran into the road, Ertle said. Both women were struk by Lemus’ truck, he said. The accident is being investigated by Patrolman Frank Kuhl and Sergeant Chad Clark, Ertle said.
