Late afternoon accident on route 138
A 43-year-old Neptune man was charged with drunken driving after a rollover accident on Route 138 Saturday afternoon, police said. The man, who police did not identify until the family can be notified of his injuries, was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was also charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain lane after his vehicle left the road near Brinley Road around 4:30 p.m., according to a release from Sgt. Chad Clark. The man was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, with moderate injuries by Wall Township First Aid and MONOC paramedics. Oil industry analyst says Wall Street speculation a main reason for high pump prices
The price of a gallon of gasoline has been on a steady rise since October and one of the chief reasons that drivers are being squeezed is not increased demand, but increased profit, one expert said Monday. Construction on Route 18 Bridges begins on Route 138
The state Department of Transportation says you’ll have to get used to seeing orange cones and lane closures on bridges over Route 18 as the agency embarks on multi-million dollar construction project. The DOT in a release on Monday said a $3.2 million construction project to mend the 38 bridges over the length of Route 18 in Monmouth and Middlesex counties begins with the Route 138 bridges. Single lane closures will be allowed on Route 18 in each direction during overnight and off-peak hours and shoulder closures will be allowed at any time.
