A Morris County man has agreed to pay $2 million in overtime back wages and $1 million in damages to employees at gas stations he owns throughout New Jersey, including one on Route 35 in Wall, the U.S. Labor Department announced Thursday. Employees often worked up to 84 hours per week but did not receive earned overtime pay, a department news release said. The agreement involves 417 workers at 72 gas stations owned by Waseem Chaudhary, of Madison. The Shell station at 1601 Route 35 -- at Belmar Boulevard -- is one of the stations involved in the agreement. That site was recently approved to become Wall's first 7-Eleven store. Yes Mickey, they were. Only 2 families responded from River and M Street. They were against it. Really, only those living within 200 feet had to be notified? I live in a development off of Belmar Blvd just past Marconi, and I'm not thrilled with it. I' m surprised that no one else living past us along the Blvd, especially those living on the water, could be happy about it either.   more ›
