Point Boro Alum Rampone Announces Slate of Summer Soccer Activities

Lady Panther star to host camps and leagues with Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Sky Blue FC

Christie Rampone made a name for herself on the soccer fields and basketball courts of Point Boro High School and Monmouth University. After taking her soccer skills to the professional and international levels, Rampone recently announced that she will spend her summer not only playing on the new Sky Blue FC squad of the National Women's Soccer League but also giving back to her local community.  One session of the Christie Rampone and K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital Girls Soccer Camp will be held June 24-28 at Sunshine Village Fields in Neptune. Campers who take part will also be invited to see the Sky Blue team in action at Rutgers University.  Also that week, a 7v7 league will begin and will be held every Tuesday for a six week season…

Kids Play Camp Kicks Off With A Bang

Summer program offered through Wall Recreation began Monday

It all seemed to be quite normal at first. A line queued to register kids for the first day of Kids Play Camp, a 1/2-day summer program offered through the Wall Township Recreation Department, inside West Belmar School Monday morning. Inside the gym, dozens of kids were divided up into grade-specific groups, ranging from kindergarten to eighth, their voices mixing and bouncing off the walls in a cacophonic din of equal parts anticipation and excitement. Co-directors Hillary Addonizio and Michael Manson were shepherding children and their parents, keeping an order to the first-day chaos. Then, boom! School's Out, But Camp Is Now In Session

Township's youngsters make West Belmar School their summertime playground

With school out for summer, camp is now in session. Kids' Play Camp, the township’s summer camp for children in kindergarten through eighth grade, kicked off Monday with some of its highest enrollment in recent memory, said Mike Manson, the camp’s co-director. For the next six weeks, more than 80 campers will make West Belmar School on 17th Avenue their personal playground, playing dodge ball, doing arts and crafts and chasing each other around the jungle gym, Manson said. In addition to the everyday activities, youngsters will have an opportunity to attend several day trips to the local bowling alley, Lakewood Blue Claws games and a laser tag course in Manalapan, among others, Manson said.
