Concert At Wall Library Monday

Trinity Celtic Band at the library on Monday night

The Trinity Celtic Band will hold a concert at the Wall Library Monday. The six-member band will put their unique approach to traditional Celtic songs, as well as dirving reels and jigs. The event begins at 7 p.m. at the library, 2700 Allaire Rd. For more information, call: (732) 449-8877.

Discuss New Jersey's Wild Side Tuesday

Presentation of natural wonders of Garden State set at Wall Library

The Wall Library on Tuesday is scheduled to host a presentation on the wildlife and natural wonders of New Jersey with author David Wheeler. Wheeler, an experienced environmentalist and author of the new book “Wild New Jersey: Nature Adventure in the Garden State,’’ is set to bring tales the wild side of New Jersey, the most ecologically diverse state of its size in the country. The free event is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the library, 2700 Allaire Road.

Still Time to Donate to County Food Drive

With less than a week to go in the month of April the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders is continuing a food drive that has collected more than five tons of items for the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The drive is being held in April which is also National County Government Month. This year's theme is "Healthy Counties, Healthy Families." Freeholder Deputy Director John P. Curley said the drive has been a rousing success so far. "We are so pleased with the generosity our residents have shown during this food drive," he said. "People who need food are not those who we traditionally think of as the poor. Today most people in need of assistance are formerly working, middle class families who lost their job or are …

Wall Library Announces Events For Spring

The Wall Township Library has announced its springtime events, full of programs aimed at all ages and interests. A showing of the film “Titanic -- The Complete Story: The Death of a Dream,” a History Channel documentary, is among the library’s offerings next month, which also includes help preparing your taxes. The library, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, is located in the municipal complex at 2700 Allaire Rd. The Wall Public Library, located in the municipal complex at 2700 Allaire Rd., has announced its special January programs, including a course that intends walk people through the process of buying and selling on eBay and a silent film festival. Bargain Books at Wall Library Book Sale

$1 Bag Sale Continues Through Saturday, September 24

Hoping to find a few mystery books to read, Charlie Albano shopped the Wall Library’s quarterly book sale Tuesday. “I read several books per week, mostly mystery and adventure. You can really find some good buys here,” said Albano, of Wall, who visits the book sale regularly. The Wall Library Book sale, which also includes the sale of DVDs, VHS tapes, audiobooks and cassettes, began on September 10 with a line of 81 people, according to Branch Manager Janet Trotter.  “The first day is the busiest. We see book dealers and collectors looking for a certain type of book,” Trotter said. “I like to try new authors that I haven’t read before,” said Vivian Ellicott, of Dumont Terrace, who was purchasing paperbacks and an  audio book for an …

11th District Legislators To Hold Office Hours At Wall Library

The office of Senator Sean Kean and Assembly members Dave Rible, and Mary Pat Angelini, all R-Monmouth, are scheduled to hold mobile office hours at the Wall Township Public Library next week. Exotic Cruises On Attendees' Bucket Lists

Travel Lecture Series at Wall Library Tuesday

Hoping to cross a cruise to Australia off her bucket list, Renee Kaplow attended the Tuesday’s travel lecture series at the Wall Library on “Cruising … Be Inspired to See the World by Ship.” Kaplow and her husband, Stewart, both 69, are veterans of cruise ships who have enjoyed 36 cruises together throughout their 47-year marriage. The most memorable was a 16-day cruise around Tahiti aboard the original Love Boat, The Pacific Princess, in March of 1995, according to Kaplow. “We came tonight to ask some questions about cruising Australia versus a land tour,” said Kaplow, of Aberdeen. “If we don’t do the trip to Australia now, I don’t know if we ever will.” The one-hour lecture, led by Ira and Helene Kaplan of Cruise Holidays of Marlboro, …
