Howell police assisted with investigation.
A Glendola Road resident arrived home to find a burglary in progress, and police used a foot chase with K9 officers to find two suspects who had fled, Wall Police said. Chief Robert L. Brice said police responded to the home around 1:40 p.m. Sunday to a report of a burglary in progress between Belmar and Monmouth boulevards. "The burglary was interrupted by the resident who was arriving home. Two suspects were described by area residents, a female suspect that fled on foot out of the back of the house and a male suspect that fled in a silver pick up truck," said Brice in a police statement. Police asking for tips
Chief Robert Brice of the Wall Township Police Department reports the following occurrences: Township police are investigating two attempted residential burglaries reported in the Ruta Development off of Belmar Boulevard. In the first attempt, a Querns Road homeowner heard a strange noise in his back yard last evening at 10:30. Police were called at 12:53 a.m. after the homeowner later discovered that the screen on his porch door was cut. Police received a second call at 6:34 a.m. after a Ruta Boulevard homeowner found that three screens on 1st floor rear windows were cut and pushed up. No entry was gained in either attempt. South side, near Shark River
A home in the process of being raised after seeing widespread Hurricane Sandy flooding has collapsed. The Belmar Boulevard home's roof now sits asunder and its walls flattened after the home collapsed earlier this week. The house is on the south side of Route 35 near the Shark River Harbor in Wall Township. The ranch home was one of the first in the neighborhood to be raised. The street currently lies in a FEMA map flood zones affecting residents around the Shark River from Route 35 an reaching westward to Marconi Road. Wall construction approved; neighboring Howell to provide water & sewer
A proposal to build seven warehouses on farmland on the western edge of town was approved by the Planning Board Monday, officials said. The pitch, which proposed to build an 80,000-square-foot warehouse building and six 15,000-square-foot buildings — a total of 170,000 square feet of buildings — along with associated parking, drainage and utility facilities on a tract at Belmar Boulevard and Birdsall Road, was approved by the board in a 7-1 vote, according to the Planning office. Veterinary hospital worker report slow, steady progress for "Sammy''
Monday Update: The abused dog taken to a Tinton Falls shelter by its abuser continues to make progress, veterinary staff say. Samurai, brought to the Associated Human Society shelter on Shafto Road in Tinton Falls on Friday by a man who claimed he found the dog near death on the side of Belmar Boulevard in a trash bag, has been making slow and steady progress at the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, staff say. "Sammy continues to make slow progress," staff say. "He is tolerating his syringe feedings and antibiotic therapy, and is now able to hold his head up for short periods of time! The doctors and technicians are monitoring him very closely to make sure that he receives pain medication if he shows even the smallest sign of discomfort." …

A huge construction project targeting a parcel in the extreme west of the township is slated for a second hearing before the Planning Board on Monday. The applicant, ASP Wall LLC, wants to build an 80,000-square-foot warehouse building and six 15,000-square-foot buildings — a total of 170,000 square feet of buildings — along with associated parking, drainage and utility facilities on a tract at Belmar Boulevard and Birdsall Road.
