North Wall Little League Parade Set For Saturday

Annual tradition kicks off new baseball season

The North Wall Little League is scheduled to kick off its 2013 season this Saturday with its annual parade. The parade will march down Monmouth Boulevard from Taft St. and down Belmar Boulevard to the baseball fields. Step off is set for 9 a.m. The South Wall Little League organization is set for their parade next Saturday, April 20.

Last Chance To Register For North Wall Little League

Final registration dates upcoming

There may be snow on the ground, but its time to begin thinking about baseball. The North Wall Little League club is holding its last chance registration session through Feb. 25. Those interested can register for the upcoming spring baseball seasion online at the NWLL website, www.northwalllittleleague.com If in person is more your thing, come to the organization's final walk-up registration, being held Saturday, Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the NWLL Bauter Field Shack, on Marconi Road.

North Wall Stomps New York In Eastern Regionals

Junior Little League squad buries Stony Point team 18-7

State champion North Wall Junior Little League continued its smoldering hot streak Saturday, stomping the New York state champion squad from Stony Point during the first game of the Junior League Eastern Regional championships. North Wall, which bashed its way to the state championship with a succession of 10-run victories, continued to put away its competition, beating Stony Point 18-7 in a game lasting only five innings. After a scoreless first inning at Michael J. Tighe Park in Freehold Township, Stony Point chalked up four runs at the top of the second, with momentum was on their side. But North Wall battled back, adding five runs of their own and silencing the visitor's bench. They never looked back. A relentless offensive onslaught …

Parade Kicks Off North Wall Little League Season

Marchers, officials and revelers of all kinds help start the season for young baseball players

Hundreds attended opening day of the North Wall Little League as the youngsters kicked off the season on Saturday with their annual parade. The little leaguers, donned their baseball uniforms, marched south down Monmouth Boulevard, then turned east down Belmar Boulevard to the Camp Evans fields for the opening ceremonies. After Mayor Ann Marie Conte threw out the first pitch, the teams enjoyed free hot dogs, soda and games courtesy of the North Wall traveling baseball teams. And while most parents were still finishing their coffee, by 10 a.m. Kristen Scott, an event organizer, said the kids had already gone through 300 hot dogs. “I thought the kids would start eating them at like noon, but we went through 300 hot dogs by ten in the morning…
