Asbury Man Charged In School Burglary

Charged with burglary and theft of four DVD/VCR machines

An Asbury Park man has been arrested and charged with burglary and theft after a Halloween break-in at a local school, authorities said. Justin Bingham, 20, was charged with one count each of burglary and theft for his connection to an Oct. 31 break-in at the Rugby School, 1604 Woodfield Rd. Bingham broken in and stole four DVD/VCR players from the alternative school, according to an arrest warrant. Bingham also was charged with a break-in in Eatontown, according to the warrant. He was taken to Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $14,500 bail, according to jail records.

School Aide Pleads Guilty To Charges Of Sex With Student

Rugby School aide Bradi Shroyer pleads guilty to sexual contact with 16-year-old student

A 33-year-old township woman today pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a 16-year-old student at the Rugby School, authorities said. Brandi Shroyer, 33, pleaded guilty today to one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact before Superior Court Judge Lisa P. Thornton, according to a release from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. Shroyer, an employee of the Belmar Boulevard alternative school, had supervisory control over the unnamed student at the time of the incident, the release says. As a result of her plea, the state will recommend 364 days in jail at the time of Shroyer's sentencing. The plea will also require Shroyer to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law, according to the release. Shroyer had been …

The teacher is in trouble because she was a teacher, and had supervisory power over the student. The student could be 18, and she could still be arrested.   more ›
