The owners of Bogan's Deep Sea Fishing Center in Brielle were sentenced today after pleading guilty to income tax evasion in March. William H. Bogan Sr., 77 was sentenced to six months in prison and six months home confinement with electronic monitoring. His daughter, Sharon Bogan, 47 was sentenced to two years probation. The Bogans, owners of several charter fishing boats and river cruising boats located in Brielle and Point Pleasant Beach, failed to report large portions of income earned for five years, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Former owners of Farmingdale restaurant face five years after admitting they cooked the books
The former owners of Farmingdale's Mulligans Bar and Restaurant pleaded guilty to federal tax evasion, authorities said Thursday. Donald Grasso, 65, of Brielle (no relation to former Manasquan Councilman Don Grasso), and Dan Orlovsky, 66, of Toms River, entered guilty pleas before U.S. District Judge Joel A. Pisano in Trenton, admitting their roles in a conspiracy to evade $700,000 in taxes, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney's office. Grasso and Orlovsky, charged separately, allegedly failed to report $518,242 in cash payroll to themselves and restaurant employees between 2003 and 2005, the release says.
