ReplyGo to DJais website to see the comments on the type of people they attract. At one council meeting we were advised that D'Jais was located in a commercial zone and would not be able to open early. Next thing you know right on the day of the St Pats Day parade Ocean Ave is opened and so is the bar. Closed door politics as usual. Thanks mayor, hope you are happy in your quiet north end neighborhood since you show no regard for the tax payers and families in the south end. Congrats to 10th ave Burrito and Dolce Vita, great responsible establishments.

ReplyRidiculous. Lame. Do the right thing. nO PLASTIC. Belmar will be a laughing stock. Plastic horrible planks and trailer concessions. All the work that has gone into re shaping the oceanfront going down the drain. One big D'Jais, the mayor's favorite place. Put your big boy pants on and stop the Sierra club bully in his tracks. STOP THE USE OF PLASTIC.

ReplyPlease don't let the Sierra Club bully you into using plastic for the boardwalk. It warps, it burns feet and it's plastic! Ipe is certified and cultivated. Rainforest is not destructed. Years ago that was the case when an entire acre of forest would be taken down for two ipe. No more. Please reconsider. Now is not the time to allow bullying to determine the beauty and durability of the shore.

ReplyTrex also does not last, warps, hardware pops out of it and it's damned hot to walk on. All of Coney Island's boardwalk is ipe which lasts at least 25 years. Certified ipe is now cultivated so large swaths of rainforest do not need to be cut in order to harvest the one or two ipe per acre that grow wild. It is also cultivated as an ornamental and has many medicinal uses. I'm embarrassed that the Sierra Club would issue such a poorly researched letter, especially at a time when we are reeling from the most catastrophic disaster to affect the US. Ipe is the standard for boardwalk construction. Let the Sierra Club publicists build their offices of plastic and install plastic floors and refrain from boardwalk designing.

Reply'Kids having fun?" Public urination, foul language so loud you have to keep the windows shut so the kids don't hear, not being able to walk near D'Jsis along the ocean with the kids to avoid the language and behavior. Maybevthere are policecrightvin front of the bar butvlook into behavior just a few blocks away Blame the neighbors for renting to the idiots? Renters would never behave at home like they do here. Sitting at the curb drinking, getting high and swearing until sunrise. Stop landlords from renting to hoards of mindless partiers in a family neighborhood. And stop protecting the owner of D'Jais. Properties near the bar cheaper? Taxes cheaper? Don't be stupid. Bad behavior should not be tolerated anywhere at anytime. Check the location of most of the CDS arrests. Most up and down 18th ave.

Shocking result of the trial, especially with all of the evidence of cover up. It's happened before and will happen again. He got away with murder and cover up
